Anchor the search to the legal entity

Estonia's official e-Business Register lets you search for an entity by name or registry code. Start with the code shown in the contract to avoid confusion between similar or previous names. Preserve the legal-form suffix, such as OÜ, when matching documents.

If you only know a website, ask for its contracting entity's details. A person's e-Residency does not tell you which company is party to an agreement. The relevant search concerns the organisation, not a representative's personal digital status.

A practical search sequence

  • Open the official e-Business Register search.
  • Enter the legal name or registry code in the appropriate field.
  • Select the record with the matching identifier and review its available status.
  • Compare address and representation information with the documents supplied.
  • Review available filed reports or documents relevant to your purpose.

RIK explains access to public entity information without signing in, with exceptions for some materials. Check the conditions of the particular document rather than assuming that every additional service follows the rules for basic viewing.

Read reporting dates accurately

A report's filing date is not the same as the period it covers. Keep both when comparing information. An old report does not automatically describe current operations, and a missing file should lead to clarification rather than speculation.

The corporate record is also separate from any specialist permission the business may require. Identify the entity first, then check relevant authorisations through their appropriate official sources.

Request a defined outcome

Include the registry code, name, period and intended use in a document enquiry. For an overseas recipient, clarify format and language requirements beforehand. You can describe an uncertainty to LegalRegistr—for example, which document establishes registration or representation—so the deliverable can be agreed before ordering.
